Surf Point, Rawai — One Year In and Still Raising the Bar
This month’s big kudos goes out to Surf Point, a cozy little cafe in Rawai that’s quietly become one of the most beloved little hangouts on the south side.
Before Surf Point that location had its challenges. It’s a tricky spot to activate, and plenty of places have come and gone there over the years. But Surf Point didn’t just survive it stuck. And now, one year in, it’s become the kind of place you don’t just stumble into. You return to it.

“The first time I walked in, I felt like I’d found the kind of place where you run into both old friends and new ones,” said one regular. “It’s not just a brunch spot — it’s a community.” – Vlad (Surf Point Fanboy)
Run by Alice, with support from awesome shift managers Van and Sara, Surf Point strikes a rare balance between style and soul. The filter coffee is excellent, and the creamy buckwheat chicken soup has earned near-legend status for being “comforting to the soul.” (Reported Andrew one of our most handsome contributors)
There’s a rotating selection of beans, a small line of jewelry and t-shirts (oversized of course), cool stickers and the vibe… both indoors and out, is comfortable, cozy, and full of good people. The kind of spot where it’s easy to settle in and let a few hours pass. Or to “enjoy a good coffee while waiting for good waves,” as they like to say.

They also go beyond just food and drink. Surf Point hosts the occasional garage sale, coffee cupping, and even casual DJ sets, little pop-up moments that turn a simple cafe into something more like a creative hub.
“The audience is young, artistic, open-minded,” said one contributor. “People who care about what they take in — whether it’s their coffee, their food, or the conversations they’re having.” – Vlad
So to Alice, Van, Sara, and the whole Surf Point crew, congrats on a year. We see the love, the effort, and the consistency. And we love what you’re building.
Here is to you and to many more good years 🙌
— Tia
