In “The See-Saw Tree,” David Wood weaves a compelling environmental fable.

The play centers on a majestic, ancient oak tree that has stood for hundreds of years, providing a home and a delicate ecosystem for a diverse community of animals. The conflict arises when a local developer plans to cut down the tree to make way for a children’s playground—ironically featuring a see-saw made of wood.

As the animals hold a frantic “parliament” to save their home, the story masterfully explores the balance of nature and the consequences of human “progress.” It isn’t just a children’s story; it is a plea for planetary preservation and a reminder that once a natural resource is destroyed, the “see-saw” of our ecosystem tips toward disaster.

Produced in conjunction with The Litter Club, this story mirrors it’s mission: protecting the existing beauty of Phuket from the “waste” of development and ensuring that the balance between our community and our environment remains steady.
