When Restlessness Is Trying to Tell You Something
What do you do when everything in your life looks fine — but something still feels off?

WEEK 3 | THE IN-BETWEEN

One of the more confusing stages of change is when there is no obvious crisis. Nothing has collapsed. Work is happening. Life is functioning. You can still laugh, go out, pay the bills and tell people you are fine. And yet, underneath it, something does not quite fit.
We can make this harder by treating discomfort as proof that something is wrong with us. Sometimes a better frame is simply to notice what may be changing within us.
There have been periods in my own life where the external situation had not changed much, but my relationship to it had. Things I once chased no longer had the same pull. Things I could once tolerate started to feel expensive. Priorities shifted before I had language for what was happening.
That can feel like restlessness, boredom or even dissatisfaction. But sometimes it is simply growth arriving before the new direction has become clear.
A practical exercise is to make two short lists: what still gives you energy, and what you are maintaining mostly through habit, obligation or identity. Do not rush to act on the list. Just look at it honestly. The pattern often tells you more than another month of overthinking.
Not every uncomfortable feeling needs to be fixed. Some need to be listened to.
Reflection for the week:
If you stopped judging how you feel, what might the feeling be trying to tell you?
