Phuket’s pizza scene changed when Five Olives landed on the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list. Before that, most residents would have told you the island did decent pizza but nothing you would cross town for. That has shifted. There are now two internationally ranked Neapolitan places, a certified AVPN operation, the island’s only Detroit-style option, and a five-branch chain that makes its own mozzarella in-house. The scene is deeper than most residents realise.

We have organised this by area rather than ranking. Where you live determines where you eat pizza on a Tuesday night. The destination places are worth the drive; the neighbourhood places are worth knowing about.

Old Town

Marni on Montri Road is the strongest pizza in Phuket Town and one of the best-value artisan pizzas on the island. Chef Korn Kantapat Sinpradit and his sister run both Marni and Five Olives in Cherng Talay. Marni has appeared on the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list for four consecutive years, placing 39th in 2026. Pizzas run ฿320 to ฿480, with truffle variants at the top end. For the quality, the pricing is hard to argue with. Small space, no reservations, go early or wait.

MODO on Soi Sun Uthit is the only Detroit-style pizza on the island. Thick, crispy-edged, cheese-to-crust ratio that divides opinion. If you know what Detroit-style is and want it, this is your only option in Phuket. Pizzas ฿325 to ฿375.

Wichit and central Phuket

Peppina at My Front Yard Community Mall in Wichit holds AVPN certification (number 586, if that means something to you). The pizza carbonara is the signature. Recent reviews have been mixed, and the consistency question is worth noting. When it is on, the Neapolitan base is proper. When it is not, you notice. Pizzas ฿360 to ฿590.

Chalong and the south

Pizzeria Agli Amici in Chalong and Casa Nostra (also Chalong, delivery-focused) cover the southern end. We have less depth on these two than we would like. If you are a regular at either, tell us what to order.

Kata and Karon

+39 Italian Street Food has two locations: Kata Beach and Nai Harn. Roman al taglio (by the slice), not wood-fired rounds. Run by Virginia from Florence. At roughly ฿130 per slice, this is the best casual pizza value on the island. Different product from the Neapolitan places. You are buying proper Roman street food, and the pricing means you can eat well for ฿300.

Pomodoro Pizza in Kata does wood-fired rounds. We have heard good things but have not been enough times to say more than that.

Patong

La Capannina Da Mario on the Patong end is old-school Italian run by owner Mario, who makes mozzarella in-house. Estimated ฿300 to ฿500. This is the kind of place that has survived Patong’s churn because the food is consistent and the regulars keep coming back. Not fancy. Not trying to be.

A note: a separate business called Capannina by Limoncello exists in Kata. Different ownership, different operation.

Goodfellas at the Courtyard by Marriott does Italian-American pizza with a beachfront setting. Pizzas ฿325 to ฿415. Best option in Patong if you have children who need space and a view while you eat. The pizza is solid without being remarkable.

Bang Tao and Cherng Talay

Five Olives is the editorial lead. Ranked 26th on the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2026 list. This is the pizza destination on the island. Neapolitan, wood-fired, and priced accordingly: ฿320 to ฿1,190 depending on what you order. The higher end covers the specialty and truffle pizzas. For a date or a dinner where the food needs to be genuinely good, Five Olives is the call.

Da Moreno has five branches across the island (Patong, Kathu, Phuket Town, Koh Kaew, Cherng Talay) and makes its own mozzarella and cold cuts on-site. Pizzas ฿240 to ฿500. The spread of branches makes Da Moreno the most accessible wood-fired pizza on Phuket. Consistency across branches varies, as it does with any multi-location operation. The Cherng Talay branch is the one we hear about most.

Delivery

The Pizza Company operates multiple branches across the island. This is the Thai equivalent of Domino’s or Pizza Hut. Pizzas ฿150 to ฿350 with frequent promotions. Thai-adapted toppings (tom yum pizza is a thing). Thai residents love it, and the delivery network is reliable. If you want pizza on the sofa at 9pm without thinking about it, this is the answer.

Da Moreno also delivers from most branches, which makes it the best delivery option if you want something closer to proper Italian.

What we have not covered

Pizza Sondrio in Kamala (Neapolitan), and a handful of hotel restaurants that do competent pizza but are not worth a separate trip. We are also thin on the Thalang and east coast end of the island. If there is a pizza place out there we are missing, we want to hear about it.
